Why is this chocolate chia pudding good for diabetics

This recipe is a great choice if you have diabetes. There are only 19 grams of carbohydrates and 7 grams of fiber in each serving of this recipe. After consuming this recipe, you won’t feel hungry for a long time, and your blood sugar levels won’t fluctuate as much because it contains a good amount of fiber in addition to having a low carbohydrate content.

If you have diabetes, including chia seeds in your diet may be beneficial to your health. Chia seeds may have a positive impact on blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Eating chia seeds can help reduce blood sugar levels and improve insulin sensitivity in people with type 2 diabetes. Chia seeds also have a low glycemic index, which means that eating them does not lead to a sharp increase in blood sugar levels.

Chia seeds have a high fiber content. In fact, chia seeds are among the very best sources of dietary fiber that come from plants. Only one ounce (28 grams) of chia seeds has approximately 11 grams of fiber, which is approximately one-third of the daily fiber intake that is recommended for adults. They are especially high in soluble fiber, which can help slow down the absorption of carbohydrates in the body and reduce the impact that sugar has on the levels of blood glucose in the blood.

The high fiber content in chia seeds is beneficial for a number of reasons. To begin, fiber assists in the regulation of digestion and the promotion of feelings of fullness, both of which can assist in the prevention of excessive eating and help with weight management. Second, fiber can help lower cholesterol, reduce inflammation, and improve the digestive tract’s overall health.

Several studies have investigated the potential benefits of chia seeds for blood glucose control. One study found that consuming chia seeds helped to reduce blood glucose levels and improve insulin sensitivity in people with type 2 diabetes. Another study concluded that consuming chia seeds with a high-carb meal reduced post-meal blood glucose levels in healthy individuals.

In addition to their potential benefits for blood sugar control, chia seeds are also a good source of healthy fats, protein, and other nutrients. They can be added to a variety of dishes, such as smoothies, yogurt, and oatmeal, or used as an egg substitute in baking.

Ingredients

This is a simple and easy-to-make pudding that needs only 5 ingredients:

  • Chia seeds: Chia seeds add a lot of texture and flavor to this recipe. When you add these seeds to the milk, the pudding will have a consistency that is comparable to that of tapioca pudding because the seeds will swell and become softer after being exposed to the liquid.
  • Vanilla extract: Vanilla extract is not required, but it is highly recommended because it adds yet another layer of flavor that I am confident you will enjoy. If you absolutely have to, you can use less vanilla in the recipe.
  • Sweetener: You can use any that you like. I like to use erythritol as its a natural, plant-based sweetener. However, erythritol might not be a good choice if you have a bowel problem as it can lead to bloating and gas.
  • Milk of choice: I have used almond milk for this recipe. But you can easily substitute almond milk with regular milk, coconut milk or oat milk.
  • Cocoa powder: Use 100% unsweetened cocoa powder to add a rich and smooth flavor to this recipe.
  • Toppings: This is my favorite part of making this recipe. The possibilities of what you can use as toppings with this recipe are endless! Choose from your favorite fruits like strawberries, bananas, blueberries, raspberries or add chocolate chips, nuts and seeds.
